The Mastermind

Meet Katrina (aka KC Blackbook)

Katrina is the mastermind behind BlackBook Tour’s unique approach to travel experiences. Born under a full moon in Germany’s ominous sounding Black Forest, Katrina considers herself to be spooky from birth; expressing an interest in the paranormal from a very young age, and even winning a major public-speaking competition with her speech on ghosts when she was just 9 years old. She attributes the success of BlackBook’s bestselling and award-winning Munich Ghosts and Spirits Tour to this honest authenticity. BlackBook Tours isn’t just another company using buzzwords like “passionate” and “knowledgeable” to sell tours. At BlackBook Tours the passion and expertise are real.

Born in Germany, but to non-German parents, Katrina is a woman of the world; having lived, worked, and studied in seven countries including: Germany, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Switzerland. Her international experience and ensuing wanderlust is what truly sets BlackBook Tours apart. Having spent most of her life straddling the line between being local and being foreign, this unique insight gives BlackBook Tours the advantage over other tour operators by providing its guests with an entirely new perspective on Munich.

As someone who has traveled extensively around the world, Katrina designed the BlackBook Tours concept with the traveler in mind. She considers herself to be a “snob” for all things travel and taste-related, and refuses to provide her guests with anything but the absolute best quality; whether that’s the best food, best cocktails, best stories, or best enthusiasm.

Katrina is a world traveler, a foodie, a storyteller, a true crime addict, and a true believer in the supernatural. She also possesses an MBA in Global Tourism, and is a published author (KC Blackbook). Her life’s goal is to someday become a reclusive horror writer in a cabin in the woods.

Anyone who has every picked up a book of Grimm’s fairy tales knows that Germany has no shortage of terrifying monsters and macabre folklore. From Krampus, our creepy, Christmas devil, who terrorizes naughty children every December, to Der Großmann, a medieval monster; luring its victims into the depths of the Black Forest, and who is also the inspiration for the modern manifestation of Slenderman - yes, Germany is certainly teeming with supernatural spooks.
